Management
The Oil Sands Tailings Research Facility operations is directed and managed through a Management Committee and a Scientific Committee. Scientific collaboration will be maintained with the Extraction and the Environmental Research Groups of the Canadian Oil Sands Network for Research and Development (CONRAD) to ensure that the fundamental research projects are focused on problems of industrial significance and to assist with technology transfer.
The Management Committee will be responsible to set long-term research and strategy directions, approve the operating budget and raise ongoing operating funds. The Scientific Committee develops and recommends research priorities to the Management Committee, ensures that the research being carried out is of the highest international standards and meets the needs of all stakeholders, and to organize workshops, symposiums, and conferences. The Principal Investigator will have the overall responsibility for the scientific program and financial operation of the facility.
